Hydraulic Press Controls Repair and Upgrade

Valu Electric, a Division of Valu Group Enterprises, has completed a controls upgrade to an industrial hydraulic press. This machine is rated to apply up to 40 ton clamp force and the platens heat up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Similar models are used in the aerospace and composites manufacturing industries, ideal for Compression Molding, Bonding, Trimming and Laminating.

When the machine first arrived, the PLC processor was faulted which prevented the machine from operating. Our engineer performed a controls upgrade (fixed wiring of the electrical circuits, fixed mechanical issues, re-programmed the PLC logic, created a new HMI runtime application) and automated the controls of the press.

As seen in the video, the operator enters the bump specifications on the HMI then presses START to begin the cycle. The user can control the Number of Bumps, Bump Hold Time, Bump Release Time and Cure Hold Time.
